Please join us for the first gallery showing of Melissa Rodwell’s photography in more than twelve years.

Melissa Rodwell is an example of an artist who works at the deepest and most intimate level. Her photographs are passionate and sexually charged, while maintaining a level of simplicity and technical perfection. The subjects in the BOYS collection reflect Melissa’s personal erotic desires and impulses.

Tired of seeing women objectified in film, television and photography, Melissa felt that it was time that a photographer responds with a version of sex and depersonalization through the female perspective.

Melissa Rodwell, a native Angeleno, has been a well established photographer for more than 18 years. Her major photographic influences include the work of Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, Javier Vallhonrat, and Chris Von Wagenheim, and she is also incredibly influenced by music, especially Rock and Roll.   Rodwell sees the male form as a unique landscape of clean lines, graceful undulations, and an unmistakable presence in the space it occupies. Her BOYS collection reflects that by celebrating of the youthful male body in striking photos of energy, sexuality, originality and artistry, with a touch of a 70’s glam rock, homo-erotic edge.
