Subject:High priced art sales.
Message:Pablo Picasso's 1905 painting Garcon à la Pipe (Boy With A Pipe) has set an all-time record as the most expensive painting ever sold at auction.

The painting, from Picasso's "Rose Period", fetched $93,000,000 at a New York City sale conducted by Sotheby's auction house on Wednesday. The final price, including the buyer's commission, will be about $104 million dollars.

It's an important success for Sotheby's, who had allowed speculation about a record price for the work to get somewhat out of hand; I suspect they had knowledge of a couple of potential buyers eager enough to bid the price up into record territory.
