Sofonisba in a beautiful pure blood red colour dress
Two self-portraits on one canvas, Orazio Vecellio and Sofonisba Anguissola, together side by side, painted in Milan 1559, or did they painted each others protrait ?
We don’t know yet !
“One can even wonder if there was a closer romantic relationship between them. Orazio never married, while Sofonisba married extremely late in life in a marriage of convenience.” (GLAR 1995).
A little detail on a ear and a pure blood red dress changed the history of art and identified Orazio Vecellio, one can wonder why the Pinacoteca Nazionale in Sienna didn’t released this sensational discovery yet ?
Pinacoteca Nazionale in Siena didn’t released anything about the discovery of Sofonisba pure blod red dress on ”Campi painting Sofonisba”, it’s now several month since it was cleaned. The Director was probably told to keep her mouth shut. It’s to dangerous to release the news about that Orazio Vecellio had a part in that painting, now all the critics of the so-called “Titians late style” have a chance to test the proficiency of Orazio’s brushstrokes. But she admitted to GLAR and Mr. Hans Buhr that Orazio and Sofonisba had a Renaissance passion in Milan 1559. Campi are identified as Orazio Vecellio by GLAR and no one has any idea about how Campi looked like.
The director of Pinacoteca Nazionale in Siena, recieved a draft copy of the E-book ”A Renaissance Passion” , by Hans Buhr 2004, for further research on Sofonisba and Orazio as a present.
There is no question of the Venetian flair. It practically shouts Venice!
