Message: | Hello Mayuir,
Your project sounds fascinating and I would be pleased to participate in your research and would be very interested in seeing a final copy of your report.
I find it particularly touching that Mr. Eoyang was your first respondant, since we all received his obituary notice in today's newsletter. I did not know him and only saw his beautiful work for the first time today when I followed the link from his answer to your questionaire, but I truly admire what I found in his response - the spirit of support within the community of artists.
Like Mr. Eoyang, I am also a traditional artist. You will find many artists, I am sure, who are very conversant or even working exclusively within the technologies you have listed, but perhaps my responses will be helpful to you since I am on the threshhold of exploring the possibilities and advantages of using digital technology in my work.
Best wishes in your research,
Anne Bevan

Traditional painter
all my life
I enjoyed my first experience with digital technology within the past two years as I contracted to have a series of my large scale work reproduced as giclee prints.
Also, I do not yet own a digital camera, but I do anticipate a lively and engrossing experience as I explore the possibilities of digital photography and manipulation of images in Photoshop to produce the reference images I use in my work.
simply, using the new technology to produce the image
again, simply, the traditional tools, paint, and any direct involvement with traditional materials to produce the image.
very limited at this point.
acrylic, oil, graphite.
from nature and direct experience
most importantly, the spiritual aspects and energy of my subjects.
I believe there will be a continuing respect for the direct interaction and involvement of artists with traditional material to produce art. I also believe this will be augmented by an appreciation of the capacities of digital technology both in the production and the communication of art.
Each work of art is essentially a "thing", an artifact, but without the spiritual connection between the viewer, the work and the artist, the work of art would be pointless.
yes
yes
perhaps, depends on time and schedule.
Lots of internet research, and I took a photoshop course
probably, but I will have to get back to you on this.
yes
