Sinking Silhouettes
Solo Exhibition of Self as a Metaphor
We have enterd into a time zone where images are rapidly disolving into pixels and forms transforming into metaphors of digital and virtual realities. As an artist I often question myself, where and when I lost my brush and colours; was it while Jackson Pollock was engaged in a rage against his canvas, or when Joseph Beuys stated "how to explain art to a dead rabbit ." My colours dissapeard instantly under the two omeletts of Sarah Lucas which she placed upon her bossoms, my images became mere silhouettes and they sank into the depths of my imagination.
The present exhibition of my works is a journey through the tides of contemporary art in search of those Sinking Silhouettes which lie beneath the sea of my imagination and I have tried to recover them as naively as I can to avoid being intoxicated or contaminated with the so-called sensationalism.
